Formerly called « Presly le chétif » and nestling in the midst of an immense forest, this village is surrounded by fine private castles that one can happen to see at the bend of a road. In 52 B.C. as the Julius Cesar’s legions were heading for Bourges (Avaricum) they encamped by a then marshy land which has been dried up nowadays. But there still is a pond a little further in the Méry-es-Bois commune called « the armies lake ».
