Created in 1982 on the initiative of young musicians, the Orchestre d?Harmonie de la Région Centre is made up of 70 musicians, either professionals or students in higher education establishments in France and abroad.
Directed by Philippe Ferro since 1992, the orchestra today has the dual objective of offering pre-professional training to wind instrumentalists, while at the same time discovering and promoting composers and works little known to the general public.
The Orchestre d?Harmonie de la Région Centre will represent France at the European Championship for Wind Orchestras in Oslo in May 2024. It receives support from the Conseil Régional and the DRAC Centre-Val de Loire.
