Today, we take you out to get some fresh air in a <strong>sensitive natural area<\/strong> : <strong>the &#8220;Landes&#8221; peat bog<\/strong> (the peat boag of the moors) in <strong>M\u00e9n\u00e9tr\u00e9ol-sur-Sauldre<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sologne is well known for its bog forests, heathers and ponds, and offers multiple landscapes with more than 500 ha in the center of France. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p>Did you know you could find peat bogs here ?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Among all the landscapes you can find here in Sologne, you will find bogs ! It is this water retention depriving the environment of oxygen that will allow the accumulation of many plants, thus creating peat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These ecosystems are considered today as mysterious and fragile places. They are especially appreciated for <strong>their fauna and flora<\/strong> diversity that they shelter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In <strong>M\u00e9n\u00e9tr\u00e9ol-sur-Sauldre<\/strong>, the &#8220;Landes&#8221; peat bog is located on the bed of the little Sauldre on the edge of two communal ponds towards the village of Souesmes. This 10 ha natural site is one of the last in a good state of conservation in the Centre-Val de Loire region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p>It is not for nothing that this site is classified &#8220;sensitive natural space&#8221; !<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-highlight clear\">\n    \n    <img data-src=\"https:\/\/www.aubigny-sologne.com\/en\/wp-content\/themes\/sauldresologne\/assets\/dist\/images\/interface\/patterns\/pattern2.svg\" alt=\"\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n\n            <h3 class=\"wp-block-highlight-item wp-block-highlight-title\">The sensitive natural spaces<\/h3>\n    \n    <p class=\"wp-block-highlight-item wp-block-highlight-excerpt\">Directed by the departments, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cen-centrevaldeloire.org\/du-local-au-regional\/accompagner-les-politiques-biodiversite\/13-les-espaces-naturels-sensibles\"><strong>sensitive natural areas<\/strong><\/a> (ENS), are places that contribute to the <strong>landscape conservation<\/strong>, <strong>sites<\/strong> and <strong>natural habitats<\/strong>. Their goal is double : to promote the preservation of biodiversity while allowing these sites to be opened to the public.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h2>A remarquable biodiversity<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The site of <strong>the &#8220;Landes&#8221; peat bog<\/strong> brings together a mixture of peaty habitats, humid moors and swampy woodlands typical of <strong>Sologne<\/strong>. A <strong>variety of plant materials<\/strong> such as vascular plants (<strong>sundews<\/strong>, <strong>sphagnum<\/strong>&#8230;) and mosses populate the site.
