A square tower juts out on the side of its XIIth century church . In the XIXth century, some craft industry was located there, in and around the village, as well as in a 6 kms away hamlet called&nbsp; \u00ab&nbsp;gu\u00e9 de la pierre&nbsp;\u00bb (stone ford). Alain Fournier\u2019s father used to be a school teacher there. <strong>Alain fournier<\/strong> was born at <strong>La Chapelle d\u2019Angillon<\/strong> and he wrote the famous French novel \u00ab&nbsp;<strong>Le Grand Meaulnes<\/strong>&nbsp;\u00bb.
